Skincare inspiration from US Patent No 4,569,839 –skincare recipes


Today, let’s continue with the recipes inspired by the ‘839 patent.  I’ve made changes to the recipes over the patented versions.  The revised recipes are geared toward the “natural” or “green” principle of the Cherruby Skincare blog.

Rinse Mask for Dry Skin

Mix the roots of marshmallow 25 gram, propylene glycol 12 gram, food grade gelatin 5 gram, and mucilage from plantain seeds 1 gram. Add water to bring the total mixture to 100 gram. Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  Use as a facial mask.   Rinse after 20 minutes.


Soothing Cream mask

Mix juniper 20 grams, unflavored cream 4 gram, glycerol 0.5 grams, olive or grapeseed oil 5 grams, baby oil 13 grams, polyglycol ether of cetyl alcohol 4 grams.  Add sufficient amount of water to bring the total mixture to 100 grams.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a soothing skin cream mask.

 
Soothing Gel mask

Mix lettuce leaves 20 grams, propylene glycol 10 grams, Carbopol 940 0.8 g, and glycerol 0.5 grams.  Add sufficient amount water to bring the total mixture to 100 grams.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a soothing skin gel mask.

 
Mask for Oily Skin Having Acne Tendencies

Mix sage leaves 20 grams, Myrj 49 7 grams, oatmeal 10 grams, unscented cream 6 grams, glycerol 10 grams, and carboxymethyl cysteine 1.0 grams.  Add water to bring the total mixture to100 grams.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a skin treatment mask.


Skincare Mask

Mix the lady's mantle leaves 5 grams, Cetyl alcohol 1.0 grams, Johnson baby oil 20 grams, oat flour 15 grams, glycol extract of burdock 10 grams.  Add water to bring the total mixture to100 grams.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a skin treatment mask.  In this recipe, the burdock extract can be replaced by a tincture of large Indian cress or an extract of water cress.

 
Astringent Mask for Oily Skin

Mix witch hazel leaves 15 grams, Food grade gelatin 3 grams, whole Wheat flour 15g, Lemon pectin 8 g, and horse chestnut 100 g.  Dilute every 10 g of the above mixture with 20 to 30 g of water.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a skin treatment mask.


Mask for Skin Subject to Acne

Peeled horse chestnut  25 g, Stearic acid 2 g, Cetyl alcohol 1g, baby oil 20 g, Propylene glycol 7g, Mucilages of plantain seeds 0.8 g, Add water to bring the total mixture to100 grams.  Pulverize the mixture with a blender to make a paste with a soft consistency.  This recipe can be used as a skin treatment mask.
