This
is a traditional skin beautifying tea from the Chinese herbal medicine. The Chinese medicine holds a holistic view of
skincare—i.e., the skincare involves caring of the skin from inside out. Jujube is a common herb for nourishing the
blood, promoting the blood circulate and improving the skin complexion. Chrysanthemum is often used for detoxification
and clarifying the skin and eye.
Here
is the recipe for the tea:
Add
dried jujube 50grams and dried chrysanthemum 15grams into a pot. Add 5 cups of water. Bring the water to boil and let the mixture
simmer for 15 minutes. Drain the liquid
into a cup. Add honey to your
taste. The tea often is consumed
warm. However, in summer time, I like to
add ice and a few slices of lemon to make a refreshing beautifying tea.
Here
is the recipe for the facial mask:
Mix
5 grams coix seed flour (or barley flour), 1 grams of powered alga (or collagen
powder) and 1 gram of rose powder together.
Add proper amount of hot jujube chrysanthemum tea from above. Add two drops of vitamin E oil. Stir the mixture to make a consistent soft
paste. Spread the paste over your clean
face. Sit back and relax while enjoying
your jujube chrysanthemum tea. Wash off
the dried mask with warm water and end with a splash of cold water. Pad dry.
Regular
consumption of jujube chrysanthemum team detoxifies the liver, cleanses the system,
clarifies eyes and promotes a rosy complexion.
The mask promotes the blood circulation to the skin, increases skin
plasticity, evens the skin tone and reduces the wrinkles.
