From the last post, you know that
Mary Kay is using the antioxidants rich acai berry extract their products. You’ve probably already heard many talks
about many wonderful health benefits offered by acai berry. Here are a few tips about using commercially available
acai berry product to make skincare products in your kitchen.
CherrubyTM Acai berry peel off mask
You can find
acai berry juice at health food stores and grocery
stores. Did you know you can make a delicious
peel off mask with acai berry juice?
Here is what you do: place half a
cup of acai berry juice in a bowl. I
usually avoid using plastic container in my kitchen. So, use a ceramic or glass bowl. Heat the juice in a microwave for about half
a minute. You should have a warm juice
in the bowl. Then, sprinkle one table
spoon of gelatin into the heated juice.
Stir and then put the mixture back into microwave. Heat for another minute or two until the
gelatin powder dissolve completely. Let
the mixture cool down a little until it’s not too hot to touch. You don’t want to burn your skin. While the mixture is cooling down, follow the
facial steps I posted in my past post.
When you get to the mask step, spread onto your face the now warm and
slightly thicken juice-gelatin mixture with your finger avoiding your hair or
eyebrow. You can use a mask applicator
or brush. I find it easier to just use
my fingers—I hate to clean the sticky stuff off the mask applicator or brush. Let the mask dry—read a book, watch TV, or do
the house chores while waiting. When the
mask completely dried, peel off the mask carefully starting from the neck
area. Then, follow through rest of the
steps in your skincare regime. You
should have a well nourished face afterwards.
CherrubyTM Acai
berry “clay” mask
Acai supplements are also available at many health
food stores. Take one table and crush the table into acai berry powder. Mix your acai berry powder with one table
spoon of fine oatmeal powder and just a few sprinkles of gelatin powder. Of course, you can pretty much swap oatmeal
powder with any other grain powder you can get from your grocery store—whole
grain powder, moon bean powder, whole wheat powder, or even core meal. Add small amount of warm water into the mixture
to make a thicken paste—now you have a completely organic “clay” mask. Spread the mask onto your face. Wait until it dries. Then, wash off with warm water. The reason that I use a small amount of
gelatin powder is to hold the mixture together when the paste dries. Otherwise, I notice that my home make “clay” mask
tends to flake and fall off in small piece when dried. You can also use egg white instead of gelatin
powder in the mask.
CherrubyTM Acai
berry hydrate mask
Acai berry pulp is available in frozen food section
at some health food stores. Use acai
berry pulp to make a smoothie with plain yogurt and milk. You can also add some bananas to make sure
that you have a thickened texture.
Spread some the smoothie onto your face as a hydrate mask and enjoy the
rest of them J
CherrubyTM Acai
berry Beauty Serum
I buy a lot of essence oils online.
Do a quick search and you will realize that there is an amazing
collection available including acai berry oil.
Here is a receipt for making 20 ml of CherrubyTM Acai berry Beauty Serum: in 10ml of base oil, mix in 4ml of flaxseed
oil, 4ml of acai berry oil, and 2ml of Vitamin E oil. Then, drop in about 10 drops (that is about
0.2ml) of an aromatic oil of your choice.
For the base oil, you can use jojoba oil, avocado oil, saffron oil, or
graph seed oil. For the aromatic oil,
pick whatever you like—my son likes citrus scent. So, the skicare products that I make for him,
I usually use a mixture of lemon oil and orange oil. For myself, I use a mixture of jasmine oil
and gardenia oil. Use Acai berry beauty
serum as the first layer of your skincare routine or last layer as a
sealer. I also carry a small bottle with
me so I can dab it around my eyes, on my lips, or just as regular moisture oil during
the day.
When you are taking medication, you know that you
must take your medication consistently in order for the medication to
work. Similarly, in order for a skincare
product to work, your must have enough dosage for the skin to benefit. So, again, consistency is the key. Do you skincare consistently, you will see
the effect.
